The Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert Data Center (CCIE Data Center) is an expert level training course designed for network engineers that will help them to deliver efficiently managed services in building an extensive Service Provider infrastructure.
The Evolving Technologies module is included in the Written exam only. This module enables to integrate core technology expertise with knowledge of the evolving technologies that are being lately brought to places, such as cloud, IoT, and network programmability.
To earn the CCIE Service Provider certification, a candidate must pass the following exam(s):
Step One: CCIE Service Provider Written Exam (400-201)
The candidate needs to pass the two-hour, written exam that focuses the concepts taught in the training related to packet-based networking, before becoming eligible to take the lab exam.
Step Two: CCIE Service Provider Lab Exam
Step two includes an eight-hour lab exam to test the candidate’s skills to configure actual equipment and get a service provider network running in a timed test situation. The candidate has to make an early attempt of the CCIE Lab Exam within 18-months of qualifying the CCIE written exam.
Note: Candidates are advised to pass the lab exam within three years of passing the written exam, otherwise the written exam needs to be retaken prior to retaking the lab exam.
