    THE COURSE

    Developing Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 Core Solutions Training is a five-day expert level course that qualifies an individual as an MCSD: SharePoint Applications. This course provides the essential skill-set to carry out SharePoint development activities. This includes working with the server-side and client-side object models, developing and deploying features, solutions, managing identity, and permissions, querying list data, using workflow to manage business processes, and customizing the user interface.

    This course is a prerequisite for qualifying the exam of MCSD: SharePoint Applications (70-488).

    Module 1: SharePoint as a Developer Platform 

    This module explains different approaches that can be used to develop applications with SharePoint Server 2013.

    Module 12: Managing Taxonomy

    The course is intended for developers who develop solutions for SharePoint products and technologies from team-based, medium-sized to large development environment.

    Though the course required affinity with SharePoint solution development, candidates are not expected to hold any prior experience with the new features in SharePoint Server 2013.


    The ideal candidate is a technical lead with at least four years of SharePoint and web development experience.

    Before attending this course, candidates must have:

    • Working knowledge of using Visual Studio 2010 or Visual Studio 2012 to develop solutions.
    • Understanding of AJAX and asynchronous programming techniques.
    • Working knowledge of client-side web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
    • Working knowledge of Visual C# and .net Framework 4.5.
    • Working knowledge of SharePoint solution development.
    • Familiarity with approaches to authentication and authorization, including claims-based authentication.
    • Understanding of ASP.NET and server-side web development technologies, including request/response and the page lifecycle.
