    Course Information

    This three-day instructor-led course provides applicants with the knowledge and skills to set up the advanced features in the Project management and accounting module of Microsoft Dynamics AX. The course focuses on the advanced project functionality available in Microsoft DynamicsAX.

    COURSE OUTLINE

    Module 1: Project Validation 

    • This module discusses the project validation system. 
    Module 2: Project Forecasting 
    • This module discusses forecasting within the Project management and accounting module. It describes how the concepts are closely linked within this module and how they can be used in all types of projects.  
    Module 3: Advanced Project Invoicing 
    • This module describes advanced features of project invoicing in the Project management and accounting module of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, including funding sources, funding limits, funding rules and allocations. The module also covers grants, which are most often used by the public sector and research facilities. 
    Module 4: Advanced Internal Project 
    • This module describes the accounting principles involved with running advanced internal projects in the Microsoft Dynamics AX Project management and accounting module. 
    Module 5: Advanced Time and Material Project 
    • This module describes the accounting principles involved with running advanced time and material projects in the Microsoft Dynamics AX Project management and accounting module. 
    Module 6: Advanced Fixed-Price Projects 
    • This module describes the handling of advanced fixed-price projects. Its main focus is on how to deal with work in process (WIP), and how to use the estimate system for revenue accruals on these projects.
    Module 7: Fixed-Price Project with Completed Contract 
    • This module describes the accounting principles involved with running the advanced fixed-price project with the completed contract method of revenue recognition. 
    Module 8: Fixed-Price Project with Completed Percentage 
    • This module describes the accounting principles involved with running advanced fixed-price projects with the completed percentage method of revenue recognition. .

    WHO SHOULD ATTEND

    This course is intended for people who are on the implementation team, administering or using the Project management and accounting module in Microsoft Dynamics AX. This audience typically includes people who are tasked with assessing business needs and advising them on the use, configuration and customization of the application. Additionally, people responsible for training or supporting Microsoft Dynamics AX may benefit from this course.

    Pre-requisites

    Before attending this course, applicants must have: 

    1. Basic knowledge of accounting principles. 
    2. An understanding of how to move within Microsoft Dynamics AX. 

    In addition, we recommend, but do not require, that students have completed: Microsoft Dynamics AX Introduction course
