Cloud Industry Affected From Corona virus

Coronavirus has not only contaminated the cities across the globe but has also impacted the cloud computing industry. At present, there are countless professionals working from home. This sudden change has challenged the IT frameworks especially in adapting to this global crisis and the cloud technology needs to be reshaped for while the world is battling against this issue. Reports have already shared that Microsoft teams are suffering from messaging- related functionality problems in Europe because of added workload.

Since there clearly is a need gap with so much demand from the cloud especially with coronavirus in place. This means everything will work automatically the way it should be i.e. more data through put from more users operating the data from various locations. This cannot be dealt with without risking a little distortion, noise vibration and possibly a little temporary deafness.

Given the market transformation because of this sudden demand from the cloud industry, AWS has claimed that its cloud is ready for this challenge in front of them. Eric Troyer (CMO at the headquarters in Australia) highlighted the kind of data centers it is equipped with to handle the workload.

There is a tendency with dense clouds i.e. these clouds are required to reboot time and again which cannot happen without human involvement. This is why big organizations have a hybrid cloud with them. The hybrid cloud has the ability to increase and decrease (‘spin up’ and ‘spin down’) data processing and storage in a flexible manner that is dependent on the demand.

Andrew Fray (MD Interxion) has shared since countries are now focusing on becoming a remotely working country especially now because of coronavirus. Fray further advised on how organizations still need to re-evaluate the designing and applications of the networks they previously had been using.

Given the current circumstances when the entire workforce of organizations across industries are working remotely, the network architecture and cloud architecture requires to cope with a diverse workload. This will help you in dodging entry points that are negatively impacting the performance of the entire organization.

How can organizations still be operational?

Given the circumstances to deal with the issue, we can divide the cloud into 2 core levels:-

    • Technical level: Datacenter involves preparing the server real base to ensure that there is enough processing power, memory, storage and connectivity. In fact, this will also be needing enough ancillary services like big data to cope with human demands. And sometimes this means moving the data in the clearer manner to anticipate the data spikes which sometimes this will happen by putting the data and applications in locations where they can be more efficiently and in a cost-effective manner which can happen by getting a new server that has bigger units of a datacenter in it.
    • Human-level: datacenter provisioning will involve the planning procedures to make sure that people who are working at the facility can still perform their respective tasks effectively. Datacenter specialists have unveiled "sleeping pods" and other types of living accommodation in their facilities this even includes Interxion.
