    This two-day instructor-led course provides applicants with the necessary tools and resources to perform basic tasks in the warehouse management flow in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.

    COURSE OUTLINE

    Module 1: Overview 

    • This module explains describes the basic warehouse management features that are available in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. In addition, terminology and concepts of warehouse management are discussed. Lessons Goals of Warehouse Management Terminology and Concepts Workflow in Warehouse Management Integration with Other Modules Advanced Warehouse Management After completing this module, applicants will be able to: Explain the goals of warehouse management by using Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. Define warehouse management key terms and concepts. Describe the flow of transactions in warehouse management. Describe the integration between warehouse management and other modules in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. Identify the difference between advanced warehouse management and standard warehouse management. 

    Module 2: Setting Up Warehouse Management 
    • This module explains how to set up warehouse management for use in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. Lessons Basic Setup for Inventory and Warehouse Management Product Setup Inventory Dimension Groups Physical Setup of the Inventory Logical Setup of the Inventory Pallets and Forklifts Lab : Complete Product Setup Create a new product. Add a warehouse item to the product. Add a barcode to the product. Lab : Using Dimensions Use the Dimension display form. 
    Module 3: Receipt and Storage 
    • This module reviews the procedures for item receipt by using the Item arrival journal, as well as registration using the Inventory button in the purchase order line. Lessons Purchase Orders Arrival Overview and Item Arrival Journal Pallet Transports Receipt Registration Requirements.
    Module 4: Item Picking and Shipping 
    • This module explains how to move items from the warehouse to the customers by using advanced functionality of picking and shipping. Lessons Sales Orders Output Orders Picking Process Picking Routes Deliver Picked Items Shipment Process Shipment Staging Shipment Reservations Refill Pallet Transports.

    Module 5: RFID in Warehouse Management 
    • This module explains how Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) can be used in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 to process transactions in warehouse management. Lessons RFID Administration Receiving with RFID Picking, Packing, and Shipping with RFID After completing this module, applicants will be able to: Describe Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. List the benefits of RFID. Review the set up for RFID. Received goods by using RFID. Process picking, packing, and shipping by using RFID. 
    Module 6: Quarantine Management 
    • This module explains how Quarantine management works along with Warehouse management. Lessons Set Up Quarantine Item Receipt Quarantine Orders 
    Module 7: Quality Management 
    • This module reviews the setup for quality management by using inventory blocking, and the creation and processing of non conformances. Lessons Quality Management Setup Review Inventory Blocking Non Conformances 
    Module 8: Inquiries and Reports 
    • This module reviews some of the reports and inquiries that are available in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. Lessons Inquiries Reports 

    WHO SHOULD ATTEND

    This course is intended for candidates that want to learn the basic features and develop a working knowledge of the typical daily procedures required to effectively use Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Warehouse Management functionality. The class is also intended for warehouse workers, warehouse managers, shipping and receiving personnel, and other people in organizations responsible for the setup and administration of warehouse management functionality.

    Pre-requisites

    Before attending this course, students must have: 

    1.  General knowledge of Microsoft Windows 
    2. Completed the Introduction to Microsoft DynamicsAX 2012 course. 
    3. Completed the Supply Chain Foundation in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 course. 
    4. Completed the Distribution and Trade in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 course. 
    5. The ability to use Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 for basic processing, Basic knowledge of warehouse management concepts.
